According to the 2019 Global Talent Competitiveness Index, Adecco and INSEAD have placed Switzerland at the top of their report for its ability to attract talents from all over the world. For many years now, Switzerland has increased its attractiveness in the eyes of students, researchers, engineers, executives, managers and entrepreneurs from all over the world. With the combination of a network of successful companies and a series of global leaders in their sectors (pharmaceuticals, agro-food, finance, industry, etc.), the country has positioned itself since the second half of the 20th century as one of the leading destinations for the world's most talented people.

In addition to its neutrality guaranteeing peace, a political system that promotes legislative stability and facilitates business endeavours, Switzerland offers foreigners who come to work a resilient economy and a dynamic and flexible labour market.

Switzerland still at the top

In recent years, the Confederation, cantons and cities have invested heavily in education. Colleges, Universities and Federal Institutes of Technology have thus seen their international recognition increase and this has also helped convince young foreign talent to choose Switzerland.

For the sixth consecutive year, Switzerland remains a location of choice where the world's best talents are considering settling and pursuing a career. In many categories, Switzerland remains at the top of the global rankings : fluidity of the labour market, ease of recruitment, employer-employee relations, social mobility, continuous training, quality of training in business schools, sustainability, environmental performance, responsiveness to the needs of the economy and innovation opportunities.
