OBaris is enabling the painless delivery of injectable drugs via the OctoPatch® — a small, needle-free buccal patch inspired by an octopus sucker. This innovative patch can be easily self-applied to the inner side of the cheek, where it remains for 10 to 30 minutes before removal. By combining gentle stretching of the buccal mucosa with natural permeation enhancers, the OctoPatch® enables the efficient absorption of macromolecular drugs. Furthermore, it serves as a platform technology, demonstrated with three distinct peptides in a large animal model. The first-in-human study has also confirmed its comfort and ease of application. OBaris is actively seeking partnerships while continuing to develop its own combination products using a drug with an expired patent protection.
