Fixposition, a company that specializes in precision navigation systems based in Schlieren in the canton of Zurich, has agreed a strategic collaboration with Autocity from the Chinese city of Shenzhen, further details of which can be found in a press release. As part of this collaboration, the Vision-RTK 2 positioning sensor developed by Fixposition is to be integrated in the Guangpo autonomous street sweeper from Autocity, as the press release explains. Autocity is working together with Fixposition in order to set new standards in the use of autonomous street sweepers.

Autocity Unmanned Driving is a national high-tech enterprise founded by the Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Shenzhen. It is active in the areas of research and development, production and sales of driverless sanitation sweepers and cloud platforms operated on the basis of Artificial Intelligence for smart city services.

“Autocity achieved the implementation of autonomous driving technology in the sanitation field, representing a significant contribution to societal progress. It not only helps urban sanitation departments in reducing costs and increasing efficiency, but also freeing sanitation workers from the high-intensity work in the cold winter and hot summer”, comments Zhenzhong Su, co-founder and CEO of Fixposition AG, in the press release.

“Integrating Fixposition’s Vision-RTK 2 has significantly enhanced the adaptability and reliability of our autonomous sweepers under diverse conditions”, as Holly Guo, co-CEO of Autocity, explains in the press release. She adds: “This collaboration not only fortifies Autocity’s position in the market but also opens new avenues for Fixposition to expand its application spectrum”.
