Focus on exporters

"Any additional help, regardless of how small it might seem, can help start-ups gain footing ", an Exchange with DePoly

Founded in February 2020, the Valais-based start-up DePoly, who recycles PET plastic waste into raw material that can be used for new PET products, has already received numerous grants, including VentureKickClimate-KICEPFLVenture and CleanTechAlps

What challenges do you face with developing your exports?

As we will be exporting chemicals, there are typical regulations around those being exported to different countries - this administrative work will be the main challenge.

What are the most important export markets and opportunities for your company? And why?

The most important markets are those that use PET/rPET products and resins, with the largest markets for us found in Asia. For the recycled PET resin industry, and the push for sustainability, there are a lot of opportunities for DePoly to demonstrate that not only can we still use plastics, but that we can make them green. We can also show companies that all PET plastic items are considered recyclable, not just bottles.

What help can we (S-GE) give to companies to help them become more successful in their international business'?

S-GE can help companies become more successful through networking opportunities and international business. I think any additional help, regardless of how small it might seem, can help start ups/SMEs gain footing and ultimately grow their companies.

What (positive or negative) surprises have you already encountered in export?

For this, its a bit early to comment as we haven't had much experience exporting yet. The time required for some administrative work is sometimes surprising.

How do you see collaboration with organizations like S-GE, why is it worthwhile?

Collaboration with S-GE helps us gain international connections, and business. For us, this is always considered worthwhile.
