The new regulation stipulates special registration for foreigners who are staying in certain Russian cities between 25 May 2018 and 25 July 2018. Foreigners must register within 24 hours of their arrival. This applies to the following cities:

  • Volgograd
  • Yekaterinburg
  • Kaliningrad
  • Moscow
  • Nizhny Novgorod
  • Rostovon-Don
  • St. Petersburg
  • Samara
  • Saransk
  • Sochi

The 24-hour period applies regardless of whether it is a working day or not. Upon arrival, foreign nationals must also submit a copy of their arrival confirmation, passport and migration card to the relevant office of the Russian Ministry of the Interior. It is no longer possible to register via post.
