Speedo is always striving to bring improved, more effective swimsuits for professional swimmers to the market. To this end, the UK-Australian company has now sought the help of a company based in the Greater Zurich Area: together with the textile technology company HeiQ, Speedo has now developed innovative technologies for new products.

According to a press release, the LZR Pure Intent swimsuit was developed using a material designed to improve compression set values and increase flexibility. In order to reduce water resistance, Speedo and HeiQ developed a textile technology that, according to the information provided, was inspired by shark skin.

Swiss expertise is also contained within the LZR Pure Valor swimsuit. The information available explains that the material used in the new swimsuit, jointly developed by Speedo and HeiQ, allows for greater freedom of movement and increases core stability on the part of swimmers.

HeiQ, a spin-off of ETH Zurich, is headquartered at IJZ, an innovation and start-up park in Schlieren in the canton of Zurich.
