Swiss Pavilion @ KORMARINE 2021, Busan, South Korea: Showcase of Swiss Maritime Technology

Home to the world’s largest shipbuilders in terms of orders, South Korea boasts technological expertise in high value-added ships and is very keen to collaborations with technology-driven startups and companies abroad. The Swiss Business Hub Korea will host a Swiss Pavilion at KORMARINE, one of the world’s leading maritime exhibitions and highlight up-to-date Swiss technologies, startups and companies.

Together with Switzerland Global Enterprise, as part of the swisstech campaign which aims to raise Switzerland's profile as an innovative location, the Swiss Business Hub Korea will be hosting a Swiss Pavilion at KORMARINE 2021 in Busan, the largest port city in South Korea. Over the last 40 years, KORMARINE, one of the world’s leading biannual shipbuilding and maritime exhibitions, has brought a variety of exhibitors and visitors together to its seminars, conferences, and networking events focusing on the latest topics in the industry. From 19 to 22 October 2021, located at the heart of Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO), the Swiss Pavilion will have an exhibition space of 108 square meters. With an aim to promote Swiss excellence in maritime technology, the Swiss Pavilion will advertise technology-oriented Swiss companies, as well as startups and research projects. Visitors are invited to experience Switzerland’s cutting-edge solutions and systems applied to the marine industry by walking through the Pavilion and its multiple zones.

Demonstrations of up-to-date products by leaders of Swiss maritime technology industry
Some of the Pavilion’s highlights include the participation of Baumer Group, Burckhardt Compression and Peter Fuchs Technology Group AG, each having their own zone. Demonstrations of up-to-date pumps, compressors and valves as well as communication equipment will be showcased on site. Further videos of each company’s activities will also be screened.  

Swiss Innovation zone with startups and research projects
In addition to these three main players, startups and cutting-edge research projects in the Swiss marine industry will also be featured at the Swiss Innovation Zone:  SP 80 Sarl, Tethys Robotics, LIMNC (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne ENAC – Limnology Center), Swiss Solar Boat, Marine Startups, MobyFly SA. From solar-powered & hydrofoil boats to underwater robots, a large and innovative panel of Swiss excellence in marine technology will be showcased and represent some of the world’s most reputed institutions of science and technology, namely the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne.

Hospitality Area + Friends of Switzerland zone to discover Swiss technologies 
Visitors will also be greeted at the Hospitality Area + Friends of Switzerland zone. Almatech SA, with its zero emission H2 maritime shuttle, Eugen Seitz AG, world leader in valve technology, as well as Nowak & Partner. 

Invest in Switzerland zone for Korean companies to expand businesses in Switzerland and Europe
Korean visitors interested in collaboration with Swiss research institutions are welcomed to the Invest in Switzerland zone. Experts of the Swiss Business Hub Korea will provide market advice for companies planning to expand their businesses into Europe and considering Switzerland as a business location or an innovative R&D partner.

The Swiss Business Hub Korea is the Seoul-based representative of the official international trade and investment promotion agency Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE).
