According to a press release, on the fifth anniversary of the merger between Maxon Motor AG and ZUB Machine Control, the development team has brought the new micro controller MicroMACS6 to market. The freely programmable module can coordinate instrument control for moving machines on up to six axes. In practice, this can be used to control autonomous, repeating driving profiles like those of precision turning machines or complex kinematic modules such as those in industry robots.
According to information provided by the company, MicroMACS6 combines Maxon’s experience in the field of motor, electronic, and related hardware development with ZUB’s contribution of competence in control and measurement technology as well as in associated software. Users can benefit from inexpensive control modules that are tailored to their own application.
Fabian Vogel, Managing Director of Maxon and ZUB, states that MicroMASC6 can be freely programmed by all users with knowledge of the computer programming language C. According to Vogel, Maxon also provides free software for entry. This contains programming examples for the new module, among other things.
