Packaging supplier Model Holding AG, which is located in the St.GallenBodenseeArea, has invested in two large production projects at its main site in Weinfelden. In the first, as it explains in a press release, it has commissioned digital printer manufacturer EFI to produce a Nozomi 14000 LED printing machine. The second-generation EFI digital printer is particularly suited to printing corrugated board. According to the press release, the machine stands out for its high productivity and sustainable, energy-efficient processes. It is set to be installed in September 2023.

In another press release, Model says the second order has been placed with Koenig & Bauer Celmacch. There are plans to install a Chrome X Pro 2100 flexo printing machine in the summer of 2024. The advantages of this press are a high degree of automation and short makeready times. It can process up to 14,000 sheets per hour. The Chroma X-Pro is the third machine that Koenig & Bauer Celmacch has supplied to Model AG.

“The chemistry between us was right from the start, which of course helps enormously with a project like this,” comments Erol Gencoglu, Head of Production at Model, in the press release. “First and foremost, however, we had very clear ideas about the press and technology: in particular, short makeready times, intuitive, modern operation and a very high level of automation were essential expectations for us, which Koenig & Bauer Celmacch can simply fulfil.”

“We are delighted that Model and Koenig & Bauer, two extremely innovative companies, are working together on this exciting project. A big thank you to the Model team for the order and thus their confidence in our machine technology and expertise,” adds Peter J. Rickenmann, Managing Director of Koenig & Bauer Switzerland.
