AirConsole, a gaming platform for cars, has secured a strategic investment from KPIT Technologies, which is based in the Indian city of Pune, according to a press release. KPIT develops software for the automotive and mobility ecosystem. Its European headquarters are located in Munich. The AirConsole gaming platform is owned by Zurich startup N-Dream, which was established in 2015.

The press release explains that KPIT’s equity stake in N-Dream will enable the company to expand its team and make it possible for AirConsole to add well-known game brands to its portfolio of games. The AirConsole in-car gaming solution has been fitted in new BMW vehicles since the start of this year. It enables passengers to play a variety of video games on vehicle's entertainment system.

With its extensive experience, KPIT is the ideal integration partner to help N-Dream scale the rollout of AirConsole to other models and brands, adds the press release. KPIT will present its Cockpit of the Future together with AirConsole at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024, which will run for four days from Tuesday, January 9 to Friday, January 12 in Las Vegas.

“With autonomous driving, the way we commute will change forever. Together with KPIT we will spearhead in-car gaming, in a world where passengers will be able to spend much more time on entertainment,” says Andrin von Rechenberg, founder of N-Dream.

Anthony Cliquot, CEO of N-Dream, adds that it has been a “transformational year at AirConsole and in the industry”, with a scaling of the BMW partnership, extension to the MINI brand, and a new partnership with Sony.
