The majority shares in Swiss Dental Solutions AG, which is based in Kreuzlingen in the canton of Thurgau, have been transferred to Gilde Healthcare's Private Equity Fund. The Dutch investor, which specializes in the healthcare sector and has offices in Germany and the USA, carried out the transaction via UNAC Holding AG, according to a statement.

Swiss Dental Solutions (SDS) was founded by the ceramics pioneer Dr. Karl Ulrich Volz. SDS specializes in the production of immunologically neutral ceramic implants made of zirconium dioxide. It treats patients at its Swiss Biohealth Clinic. The company, which calls itself the global market leader and claims to be “growing rapidly”, is also dedicated to training dentists and dental technicians in the fields of ceramic implants and biological dentistry. Volz reportedly retains a “significant” minority stake in SDS.

“Together with Gilde Healthcare, we intend to build on what we have achieved in ceramic implantology over the last 23 years,” commented Volz in the statement. "With Gilde Healthcare's global network, and financial and human resources, SDS will be able to secure its position as an innovation and market leader in ceramic implants and biological dentistry.” The company also plans to accelerate growth in the USA and Europe.
