The German health care and agricultural company Bayer sold its diabetes division for EUR 1 billion (CHF 1.08 billion), reports Finanz und Wirtschaft. “Our goal is to ensure that all patients have access to top-quality technologies and diabetes care solutions. The combination of Panasonic Healthcare and Ascensia Diabetes Care will make a significant contribution to achieving this goal,” says Panasonic Healthcare president, Hidehito Kotani on the Contour website, which belongs to Ascensia.
Ascensia Diabetes Care and Panasonic Healthcare will jointly develop glucometers and test strips for diabetes patients and the products will be sold in more than 125 countries. “We’re pleased that we can move forward as Ascensia Diabetes Care and continue to be a trusted provider of reliable, high-performance solutions that can positively change the day-to-day life of people with diabetes.
