Switzerland's technology institutes among the top 15 in the World

Switzerland offers universities and colleges exceptional conditions in comparison with other countries: The most recent ranking by British analysts QS places two Swiss universities amongst the Top 15.

ETH Zurich is at number eight on the current world ranking of the best universities. The top 100 also includes other Swiss universities. EPF Lausanne, for example,repeats last year's ranking at number fourteen. The University of Zurich even climbed five places to come in at 80, while the University of Geneva dropped six places to find itself at 95. The other Swiss universities on the list are the Universities of Lausanne (138), Basel (141), Bern (181) and St. Gallen (288).

For the fifth year in a row, first place in the QS World University Rankings went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States. Stanford and Harvard, also in the United States, took the other two places on the podium.

Zurich in fact received two honors: In addition to the impressive ranking of the ETH, the city is also considered one of the best places to study. While it just missed finishing in the top 10, it was ranked as the twelfth best city in which to study. The top ten includes cities such as Berlin, London and Sydney.
