Switzerland Innovation Park Ost (SIP Ost) in St.Gallen, which is still under construction, is expanding its scope for investment. Nine new shareholders from Eastern Switzerland are contributing additional capital of 1.55 million Swiss francs. When the company was founded two years ago, the 21 founding shareholders decided to increase the capital to 5 million francs. The fact that the subscription target has now been significantly exceeded is “particularly encouraging”, writes SIP Ost in a statement.

The new shareholders are Appenzeller Kantonalbank (APPKB), Cavera AG, Hälg & Co. AG, Metrohm Stiftung, OST – Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences, St.Gallische-Appenzellische Kraftwerke AG (SAK), Thurgauer Kantonalbank (TKB), as well as Martin Fengler (founder of Meteomatics) and Roger Dudler (founder of Frontify). “I would like to extend a warm welcome to our new shareholders and thank them for their trust in our start-up project!”, commented Chairman of the Board of Directors Roland Ledergerber in the statement. "Behind each and every contribution there is a personal connection to innovation."

SIP Ost is reportedly working to establish lighthouse projects that will be both attractive and promote innovation. These include the Health Innovation Hub, the Sensor Innovation Hub and the Business Innovation Hub, as well as the SIP Ost Knowledge Database. For these projects, publicly available information is continuously sifted and semantically analyzed with the help of generative artificial intelligence. In this way, specific competencies of companies and institutions can be identified, even if they are not explicitly mentioned in communications.
