Switzerland Global Enterprise and Switzerland Tourism attract innovative companies to Switzerland

Swiss Tech Experience

As a location for innovation, Switzerland is predestined for the development of new business models with future technologies. The settlement of innovative companies from abroad plays an important role here. They bring jobs and know-how to Switzerland and complement the tech ecosystem perfectly. Within the framework of the Swiss Tech Experience Week, Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE) and Switzerland Tourism are now teaming up to bring selected companies from the fields of robotics, advanced manufacturing and artificial intelligence to Switzerland for some exclusive insight.

Swiss Tech Experience - Switzerland Tourism

Together with its partners, the regions and cantons, S-GE is positioning the Swiss business location as a leading innovation and technology hub. And justifiably so, as the annual Global Innovation Index shows, for example: In 2021, Switzerland was ranked first for the tenth time in a row, with Swiss investment promotion focusing on the future technologies of artificial intelligence, blockchain, robotics, personalized health and advanced manufacturing.

In order to draw the attention of foreign companies specializing in these technologies to Switzerland as a location for innovation, S-GE has launched the Swiss Tech Experience Week in cooperation with Switzerland Tourism: The two partners are inviting a group of international tech leaders and tech entrepreneurs to travel to Switzerland to experience the local tech ecosystem first-hand.

Selected companies and tech influencers

In a selection process, a jury chose one winning company each from the USA, Canada, India, France and Italy in December 2021. The jury consisted of three experts from the areas of science and industry. The selected companies will visit Switzerland from June 27 to July 1, 2022, together with media representatives and an influencer from the respective industry. The program of the Swiss Tech Experience Week includes visits to important research institutes, leading companies and other players in the tech industry. The supporting program is organized by Switzerland Tourism. The aim is to raise Switzerland's profile in these technologies and to attract foreign companies to Switzerland. This will generate added value, create new jobs and strengthen Switzerland as an industrial location.

Partnership with outstanding synergies

Switzerland Tourism and Switzerland Global Enterprise do have different basic mandates, but through their work they both make a contribution towards strengthening Switzerland's foreign trade. And in the area of "digital nomads", who work flexibly from any location thanks to digital technologies, there is a common target group:

"With digitization, the forms and reasons for traveling are becoming more diverse. Switzerland is an ideal destination for digital nomads and for business trips that integrate leisure (bleisure)," explains Gilles Dind, Head of Markets West at Switzerland Tourism. "We are delighted to have S-GE as a partner, which will further enhance the attractiveness of our country, both economically and with regard to tourism."

"Switzerland Tourism strengthens the image of Switzerland as an attractive place to work with its promotional activities, such as the Bed 'n' Bureau initiative," says a pleased Sirpa Tsimal, Director Investment Promotion at S-GE. She adds: "A high quality of life, an intact environment and diverse leisure activities are important soft factors when promoting a location."
